Offered twice a month, this course meets the requirements for people filing bankruptcy that they complete a personal financial management workshop before they can be discharged from bankruptcy. Two hours long, includes helpful worksheets and book. Offered at multiple FISC office locations.

Checking helps people to be financially literate and to be informed
users of mainstream financial products and services such as checking
accounts. People that use alternative services, like check cashing services, pay hundreds of dollars a year more in fees
than they would at a bank or credit union. Get Checking teaches "banking
basics" through a three hour course. Graduates of the course who pass a
competency test receive a certificate of completion, which is recognized
by participating financial institutions.

Deter, Detect, Defend: Learn More about Identity Theft Identity theft is considered to be one of the fastest growing crimes in the country. Ten million Americans had their identity stolen in 2008. Anyone can be a victim. The average loss per identity theft is $4,849, but the victim also spends an average of 600 hours resolving the issues related to the crime. Prevention is the best way to avoid this problem. FISC can help your employees or members understand the most common causes of identity theft. Making the Most of Limited Resources
How to Increase Employee Participation in 401 k Plans While employees have some understanding that they "should" save for the future, many fall short of saving what they need to save. This program informs and persuades employees to make better use of their 401 k. It can easily be customized by employers to share specifics about their 401 k, encourage enrollment, and increase deferrals. 60-90 minutes Programs for Children, Teens and Young Adults This 50-75 minute program features a professionally developed 10 minute video, where college students describe some of the mistakes they made and lessons they learned about using credit.
