Debt Management Plans

Debt Management Plans (DMPs) are voluntary repayment plans that allow you to repay your debts in a reasonable time frame. With a DMP, you make one payment per month to us, and we pay each of your creditors.

How do I get started with a DMP?

A certified financial counselor can help you review your situation and determine if a DMP is right for you. There are two easy options to get started.

Option 1 - Go online, the quickest and easiest way to get started with your Free Consultation.

Click here to begin the process online.

We will ask you to give us some basic information about your current financial situation on our secure website.  The information you provide to us will be kept confidential, and will be helpful for our certified counselor to know so they can guide you through available options.  Once you have submitted your information online, we will contact you within 1 business day to arrange a time for you to talk with a certified financial counselor (typically by phone).

Option 2 – Call to schedule a Free Consultation.

Call 800-366-8161 during normal business hours, Monday - Thursday, 8 AM to 5 PM and Friday 8AM to 3PM to schedule your FREE Consultation with a certified financial counselor.  We will arrange a time for you to consult with a certified counselor (typically by phone), and send you a form to provide us with some basic information about your current financial situation.   We ask that you return the information as quickly as possible.  The information you provide will be helpful for our certified counselor to know so they can guide you through available options.

Option 3 – Printable forms

More about the Free Consultation

The consultation is customarily conducted by phone for your convenience.  The brief initial consultation enables you to talk with a financial counselor about your financial situation, and discuss available options including making an appointment for financial counseling.  If after your consultation, you would like to schedule a financial counseling appointment or if you schedule a financial counseling appointment without consulting with the financial counselor beforehand, a $25 counseling fee will be collected at your first counseling appointment.  This fee includes a Debt Management Plan (DMP) set-up fee, if applicable. If you believe you are unable to pay the $25 counseling fee, a counselor will determine if the fee can be waived.
